A fresh look
at “Godliness with contentment is great gain”.
Lack of contentment means I am wanting something more than at the moment God has given to me.
I want gain.
But to be content with godliness is that gain I want. If I will be content with all Godliness, then the gain I thought I was without is mine and more.
Am I in a trial? All trials feel like I am without. Don’t let them. Practice contentment because God has given this to you at this moment and no more or less. Practice thankfulness and contentment in the place you are in right now. Let it always be so. God’s aim is to grow you in all Godliness. Rejoice!
This is a secret. And this is why the gain is great.
Any other “gain “ is a phantom and an illusive thing. Grab hold of God right now with contentment and own the real great gain. It is light years better than any other and lesser gain. And all other gain apart fr
om this is just that…lesser.
Go for the greater. That’s where He is. And when the smoke clears so to speak, this is what your heart wants. Nothing else.
He is all in all. Walk through that door today and never leave.
