God has Rejected Them

Psalm 53 is a very serious psalm. When we hear it we should love it for sure, but not all will. It is a harsh word of warning to some. If we have been born again and continue in the old ways, not putting sin to death in our lives and growing in righteousness instead, I wonder if there has been salvation.

Oswald Chambers rightly said that we should have no sympathy for those who find it hard to come to God. Why? They don’t want Him. If they did they would come to Him and also long to be free from sin and certainly not to stay in it.

But what is so serious about what we hear in Psalm 53 is that these I’m speaking of have this said of them, “God has rejected them.”

In other words…He doesn’t want them. When we see a person who has been awakened to the gospel but won’t do the gospel, we can be sure that God doesn’t want them. This isn’t to say He won’t at some point but God doesn’t want someone who doesn’t want Him.

I am hoping this can jar such a one into jealousy maybe then to run after Him. Do His word. Be made new. Put the old man to death.

I can’t think of anything more horrifying for a person to know than this: God doesn’t want them.

This is confirmed all through the Word. Notice how when you come across such a person that they can even seem to be left alone by God. Jesus left Judas alone. He tells the disciples to just leave the blind Pharisees alone.
why?

Friends, He doesn’t want them.

Run to Him. Follow hard after Him today, not tomorrow. It could be too late. Today is the day of your salvation.

Won’t you receive Him?
